Hercules settled in HKUST on October 28, 2020, and started the long-term test of the Hong Kong Transport Department. So far, a total of five phased vehicle driving permits have been obtained, and 94 test tasks have been successfully completed in 595 hours. There is no safety in the whole process. Hidden dangers, no special accidents, and no human intervention, this is the first case in the industry, laying the foundation for the landing of low-speed unmanned vehicles in the Hong Kong market and accelerating the commercialization of unmanned vehicles.

Official license, past road test license

As we all know, Hong Kong is very strict with the road permit for unmanned vehicles. Most of them are test licenses that match safety officers. More careful safety performance tests and longer technical strength tests make it extremely difficult to apply for test licenses in Hong Kong. Testing is a necessary condition for the evolution of autonomous driving technology and the landing of products. This time, Hercules has successfully obtained the first fully unmanned road test license in Hong Kong. It has been officially recognized by the Hong Kong Transport Department and is the first case in Hong Kong in the true sense. It is understood that unmanned vehicles with official licenses have a wider range of activities and lower escort requirements, which will greatly promote the industrialization of unmanned technology in Hong Kong.

Obtaining the first driverless license in Hong Kong is a starting point. Self-driving self-driving cars without safety guards

Hercules is a low-speed unmanned logistics vehicle, which is different from general self-driving unmanned vehicles. Hercules has no safety officer or even a driver’s seat, which puts forward higher requirements for safety. Yiqing Innovation has been committed to the industrialization of autonomous driving technology. With the technical addition of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Hercules jointly developed and produced has “removed the safety officer” in design, and all high-precision mapping, environmental perception and path planning It is all completed by unmanned vehicles and equipped with a cloud scheduling system, which eliminates any possibility of human driving and truly realizes full-process automatic driving.

Herclues has achieved phased results in Hong Kong, and has been widely used in demonstrations in more cities in China. In terms of product performance, the Kuafu series of unmanned vehicles has been updated to version 3.4 after four years of product iteration, achieving a major breakthrough from appearance to product functions. The latest version of Kuafu unmanned vehicles adopts L-shaped vehicles.
