On April 26, 2022, Durham, North Carolina, USA and Shanghai, China – wolfspeed, Inc. (nyse: Wolf), the global silicon carbide (SIC) technology leader, announced that its SiC manufacturing plant with leading-edge technology in the Mohawk Valley, New York, USA was officially opened. This 200mm wafer factory will help promote the transformation of many industries from Si based products to SiC Based semiconductors.

Wolfspeed recently announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with lucid to supply SiC devices for lucid. The first batch of SiC was manufactured at the new plant earlier this month.
