In recent years, color TV display technologies continue to emerge, but observations show that it is difficult for a technology to gain the support of the entire industry. Among them, there are reasons why color TV companies have different judgments on technology trends, and there are also reasons why their interests are inconsistent.

But no matter what the reason is, the objective reality is that no matter which new technology, it cannot get the support of all leading companies, such as OLED, QLED, and laser.

However, with the emergence of Mini LED, the above situation has basically been broken. Ding Technology has observed that almost all mainstream color TV companies that have clearly entered the Mini LED TV market include the Korean duo Samsung and LG, as well as major domestic color TV companies such as TCL, Hisense, Skyworth, Konka, and Xiaomi.

So, why did leading companies in the industry suddenly reach a consensus tacitly and enter the Mini LED TV market collectively?

Nail Technology believes that after previous confrontations, leading companies have become more and more aware that it may not be wise to completely stand on a certain technology and reject other technologies. It is a more secure solution to develop multiple tracks simultaneously, not only taking care of the present, but also planning for the future.

Therefore, as for the Mini LED backlight technology, since it is only an upgrade technology of liquid crystal, and does not involve the route dispute of the next-generation display technology, most color TV companies have no reason to reject it.

In addition, from the perspective of OLED, QD-OLED, and laser TV, although the potential is great and the development momentum is also very good, the overall volume is still small, and the current color TV consumer market is still dominated by LCD. From the perspective of the upstream, the production lines of panel companies are basically based on LCD production lines, and it will take a long time for LCDs to be mostly or even completely replaced.

In other words, whether you admit it or not, liquid crystals still have a long life cycle, and both panel companies and terminal companies still need a long time to get returns from the liquid crystal market.

For the QLED camp, the ultimate goal of QLED is also self-illumination, but at this stage it is still an improved version of LCD, so it is better to promote the development of the Mini LED market and leave time for the development of QD-OLED or self-luminous QNED. Moreover, the current technology of QLED and Mini LED can also be integrated and developed, which is not exclusive.

As for the OLED and laser camps, they are also happy to see the continued evolution of LCDs, because Mini LEDs can be defined as high-end LCDs without threatening their respective high-end market positions, thereby achieving dislocation competition and development.

On the whole, Nail Technology believes that leading color TV companies all realize that LCDs still have a rather long life cycle. Improving and upgrading LCD technology at this stage will help boost and expand the consumer market, so basically they will not reject them. Mini LED, and for some new technologies that really have the potential and strength of replacement, the giants will still maintain strategic determination and strive for the final overwhelming victory.

Therefore, Mini LED TV will not become a solo dance of a certain company, but a carnival of the entire industry.
