According to the data, in 2019, the global market size of industrial machine vision is about 8 billion US dollars, an increase of about 3% compared with 2018; in China, the market size of industrial machine vision is about 13.8 billion yuan, an increase of about 4.8%.

Machine vision is widely used in electronics and semiconductors, automobile manufacturing, food packaging, pharmaceutical and other fields, among which consumer electronics, automobiles and semiconductors are the most important application fields of machine vision.

On the whole, the machine vision industry is a strong growth industry with a high ceiling. As the world’s largest industrial manufacturing country, China is expected to release huge demand for machine vision system in the process of industrial upgrading in the future.

At present, with the encouragement and support of national policies, all provinces in China have issued relevant policies with their own industrial characteristics. For example, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong and other provinces and cities have respectively issued policies related to intelligent factories, future factories and intelligent technological transformation to support the development of intelligent manufacturing segmentation represented by industrial machine vision.

With the increasing requirements of industrial control for accuracy and automation, 3D machine vision will play an important role in many “pain point application scenarios”, and is expected to become one of the hottest technologies. The transformation from 2D to 3D will be the fourth breakthrough in visual technology after black and white to color, low resolution to high resolution, and still image to dynamic image.
