Through this simple analogy, academician Chen Chun introduced the blockchain with the main features of single point initiation, whole network broadcasting, cross verification and joint bookkeeping. “The whole process can be traced back and cannot be tampered with. Zhang San is not afraid of Li Si’s default, because Li Si cannot change the account books of the whole village.” Chen Chun further explained that blockchain is an accounting system, which is divided into public chain, alliance chain and private chain according to application scenarios and user needs.
Chen Chun believes that in order to strive for China’s initiative in the development of blockchain technology, it is necessary to vigorously develop domestic independent and controllable blockchain technology platform, including the research on the core technology of alliance chain and public chain, and actively participate in international competition.
Promote the deep integration of blockchain and real economy, and let “blockchain +” serve all walks of life. Chen Chun believes that the development of alliance chain has strong practical significance. He believes that there are still four core technologies that need to be broken through in the current alliance chain.
First, high-performance key technologies. At present, when blockchain is applied on a large scale or there are a large number of data nodes, its performance will decline sharply. At present, the alliance chain technology led by China can process tens of thousands of transactions per second. However, during the peak period of the double 11, Alibaba cloud’s peak processing speed reached more than 300000 transactions per second. There is still a gap between the two orders of magnitude, which needs to be solved by high-performance key technologies. Chen Chun expressed the hope that through high-performance consensus algorithm and efficient intelligent contract engine, consensus efficiency and security can be improved.
The second is the key technology of security and privacy. To use in China, we must first fully support China’s encryption algorithms and standards. Business applications need the platform to support the privacy protection of business data, such as separating business data at the physical layer through namespace isolation, and a more fine-grained privacy transaction mechanism to realize that transactions can be verified but invisible. There are also technologies based on trusted execution environment to realize node key management and data encryption storage to prevent files from being tampered with.
The third is the key technology of high availability. This aspect includes the admission mechanism of dynamic members and the rapid recovery mechanism after node failure. The whole system cannot stop and add nodes. It should be dynamic in real time. There are also alliance autonomous management mechanism and efficient hot standby switching mechanism, which are also the key technologies in the future of the alliance chain.
The fourth is the key technology of high scalability. The alliance chain must be easily applicable to various scenarios and must support the use of multiple programming languages. At the same time, it also needs to support multi type and multi organizational data trusted storage, cross chain collaboration, etc.
In view of the problems of “blockchain +” in large-scale application, Chen Chun believes that the most important thing is to solve the problems on and off the chain.
The so-called on chain is the blockchain, and the off chain is all traditional trusted information systems. How to embed the blockchain system into the current traditional trusted system to solve some of its problems, or conversely, use the blockchain system to release the traditional information system? The demand for data collaboration on and off the chain may be particularly important. It is required that the data on and off the chain can cooperate effectively to ensure the relevance and consistency of the data on and off the chain.
