VR head display on the market is relatively expensive, and the price of 6000 or 7000 makes many players shy away. Moreover, due to the limitation of weight and delay, users can not wear VR head display to play games or watch videos for a long time. At present, the head display devices we can contact can be roughly divided into three categories: external head display, integrated head display and mobile phone box, among which the external head display is the most prominent.
The external head display is equivalent to an external display device, which is connected with the host or PC. Supporting a large number of VR game content, it is the product type with the most mature technology, the strongest sense of immersion and the best sense of use experience on the market.
Corresponding to the external head display, it is an integrated head display without external PC or host and with its own computing, display and storage components. Its advantage is that it is easy to carry, and users can freely enter the virtual reality world without additional electronic equipment support. At the same time, its disadvantage is that there are not enough application coverage, which leads to a limited variety of VR projects that users can experience. Moreover, because the computing, storage and other devices are integrated into the head display, the head display with a certain weight becomes more cumbersome.
Finally, the mobile phone box. In short, the mobile phone box is a kind of bracket optical device that fixes the smart phone we use as a display on our head. Represented by the earliest consumer VR mobile phone box, Google carton, the price of mobile phone box is very low. Compared with the high price VR device of 6000-7000 yuan, the price of mobile phone box of 60-70 yuan is more easily accepted by the public. Of course, this kind of device is definitely comparable to professional VR in terms of immersion and resolution. After all, the screen of a mobile phone is so big that you can put it in front of your eyes.
For mobile phone box, we will not mention it next, because mobile phone box can only be used as a cheap way for users to experience VR now, which is not the key direction of VR head display device development.

The new device released by HP also formally indicates that in the future, the head display devices, whether external or integrated, will continue to move forward in the pursuit of high definition.
In addition, recently, another news has also attracted Xiaobian’s attention. As one of the world’s largest social platforms, Facebook, the owner of oculus, a well-known head show manufacturer. Its lab announced that it has developed a new concept device, which uses holograms and flat films as optical elements. Through this technology, the display screen thickness of the device is less than 0.35 inch, much thinner than OLED and LCD display screens that emit light through glass.
The latest concept head display device looks like an ordinary sunglasses, but at present the output of the device can only be black and white images, but Facebook officials have promised that when the technology is mature enough, the device will provide users with a large enough color display range and vivid image performance. Of course, this device is still in the prototype stage and has not entered the production line. But now that Facebook has released such news, we also believe that this product will appear in the market in the future.
Today, with the rapid development of science and technology, we are not sure what kind of life we will live and what kind of electronic equipment we will use in the next 20 or 30 years. The only thing we can be sure is what direction the existing equipment will develop in the future. In the future, when the technology is mature enough and people are richer, virtual reality technology will inevitably become popular.
