On September 6, 2021, Shenzhen – vivo image technology sharing meeting with the theme of “core image” was officially held. Vivo V1, the first professional image chip independently developed by vivo, appeared, fully opening the era of mobile phone hardware level algorithm.

As a fully customized integrated chip with special specifications, the professional image chip V1 cooperates with the main chip, has both effect and experience, and has the characteristics of high computing power, low delay and low power consumption.
Under the given service, V1 can not only process complex operations at high speed like CPU, but also complete data parallel processing like GPU and DSP. In the face of a large number of complex operations, V1 has an exponential improvement in energy efficiency ratio compared with DSP and CPU.
In order to maximize its synchronous processing capacity, vivo optimizes the data storage architecture and high-speed read-write circuit in the chip to achieve an equivalent 32MB super cache and full on-chip storage. After several rounds of verification with Zeiss team, it finally overcomes the technical limitations such as process and yield, and realizes high-specification glass lenses on mobile phones, achieving the effects of high transmittance, ultra-low dispersion and strong thermal stability. Compared with plastic lenses, glass lenses have natural advantages of low dispersion. Vivo’s ultra-low dispersion and high transmittance glass lens further reduces dispersion. In terms of Abbe number, an authoritative index to measure dispersion ability, it has broken through the industry’s highest Abbe value of mobile phone lens, with a score of 81.6, which is comparable to professional camera lens, effectively solving the problems of purple edge and false color in high contrast scenes.
The ultra-low dispersion and high transmittance glass lens also achieves higher purity, and the central transmittance is increased to 95%. AOA dynamic optical calibration process is adopted to adjust the clarity reduction caused by lens thickness error and lens eccentricity error, so as to ensure the optical quality of the final lens.
Multiple coating to suppress glare and ghost, and Zeiss jointly set a high standard in the industry
Since its birth, Zeiss t * coating has always been Zeiss’s housekeeping skill and a powerful guarantee for high image quality imaging. Thanks to this, vivo Zeiss has joined hands to apply advanced coating technology to mobile phone lenses, bringing imaging effects comparable to professional cameras.
Facing the traditional problems in industries such as glare and ghost shadow, vivo innovated and introduced SWC coating technology. Based on the principle of bionics, the reflected light is fully suppressed, the reflectivity is reduced to 0.1%, and the purity is greatly improved. Through the performance of 140 color cards and the introduction of 3D color mapping matrix algorithm, 262144 parameters are adjusted to make the hue more accurate, the saturation processing more fine, and finally the hue accuracy of photos Δ E increased by about 15.5%, leading the industry to bring Zeiss natural color.
