Recently, the first Institute of aerial survey and remote sensing of the Ministry of natural resources (the Fifth Institute of Surveying and mapping engineering of Shaanxi Province) cooperated with the people’s Government of Weiyi district to carry out the supervision work of Qinling ecological environment protection, further strengthening the ability of information acquisition, decision-making planning and supervision in Qinling ecological protection project, so as to implement the Qinling ecological environment protection regulations of Shaanxi Province and Xi’an city with more strict and practical measures Example.

According to the work plan of Qinling ecological environment monitoring and protection in Weiyi District, it is an important basic work to find out the current situation of structures (buildings) in Qinling ecological protection area and complete the on-site investigation and evidence collection as soon as possible. In order to cooperate with the people’s Government of Weiyi district to carry out the protection work of Qinling Mountains in a timely and effective manner, the first Institute of aerial survey and remote sensing quickly responded by sending 15 technical personnel to form a UAV investigation team to conduct a carpet type investigation on all artificial structures (buildings) within the one kilometer boundary of the north extension of Huanshan highway in Weiyi district. Through the multi position, multi angle, unit by unit flight photography and ground survey of the structure (building), we can quickly and accurately obtain the first-hand data of the structure (building) distribution, the relationship with the surrounding environment, ownership information and so on.

Using UAV to improve the ability of investigation, monitoring and professional analysis of ecological environment protection

The task is time-consuming, heavy and demanding. A quarter of the more than 10000 structure (building) units to be investigated are scattered in the Qinling Mountains. According to the interpretation results of satellite images and the information provided by the local village committee, the investigators should carry out field investigation and aerial photography on each structure (building) entity. In the process of investigation and evidence collection, some abandoned houses have been deserted for a long time, and the field has been covered with weeds, and even the access path has disappeared, but the investigators still try to get to the scene. In this environment, the micro UAV in the hands of technical personnel also shows its unique advantages: small size, light weight, so that they can easily carry, accompany the team to climb mountains; easy to control, good mobility advantages, can realize the accurate flight and hover acquisition of complex terrain environment in mountainous areas.

Finally, after more than 20 days of intensive and meticulous work, the UAV investigation team of the first Institute of aerial survey and remote sensing successfully completed the investigation and aerial photography of all the structures (buildings) within the Qinling ecological protection area in Fuyi District, which provided intuitive and real data support for the scientific and meticulous management and protection of Qinling for the next Qinling ecological protection department in Fuyi district.

In recent years, the first Institute of aerial survey and remote sensing has continuously improved the actual combat capability of UAV professional team by exploring and practicing various application scenarios and technical and tactical methods, and actively established and improved the configuration, business process and collaborative operation specification of medium and small (micro) UAV investigation and monitoring team. In the future, the first Institute of aerial survey and remote sensing will continue to be demand-oriented, make full use of the advantages of UAV equipment, such as mobility, efficiency, flexibility and diversity, continue to provide multi-source, three-dimensional and rich data results, and continue to strive to improve the ability of investigation, monitoring and professional analysis in the field of natural resource management, ecological environment protection, land and space planning and other rapid events.
