It is reported that the Korean Air Force introduced the first RQ-4 block 30 “global Eagle” UAV in December 2019 and is working to put it into use in 2020.
According to an agreement signed with the United States in 2011, South Korea has ordered four “Global Hawk” UAVs, and the remaining three are expected to arrive in South Korea in the first half of 2020. The specific time has not been determined. South Korea has set up a special reconnaissance squadron for these four UAVs, and the work related to their operational deployment is progressing smoothly.
The “Global Hawk” UAV is one of the most advanced intelligence collection platforms in the world. It can perform reconnaissance missions for about 40 hours at an altitude of 20000 meters.
