From the perspective of R & D, Plessey’s research on silicon-based Gan is almost aimed at Ar / MR and wearable HUD devices. The advantages of silicon-based Gan include higher brightness, smaller pixel spacing, higher density and higher thermal conductivity, which are also the technical requirements of lightweight ar glasses in the future.

Axus and CP will cooperate to build monolithic integrated microled display for AR

In October this year, axus, a global supplier of semiconductor application chemical mechanical polishing (CMP), wafer thinning and wafer polishing surface treatment solutions in the United States, announced a cooperation with CP to integrate key wafer level processes for mass production of 2 μ m pixel spacing and 1080pmicroled display of CP’s next generation ar glasses.

At the same time, axus and Plessey also cooperate in the field of high-performance silicon-based Gan monolithic microleds.

Glo plans to achieve mass production of microled displays for AR / VR by the end of 2020

Glo, a microled start-up, began to exhibit microled display achievements developed with partners last year. At CES early this year, glo launched a full-color microled display for AR / VR and other headwear devices.

This product uses rgbled technology and 0.7-inch CMOS backplane to realize full color. The size of rgbled chip is only 10 * 10um, but the PPI is 525, and the gray scale of the picture is about 10000nits.
