The panel industry will continue to maintain a high growth in production capacity

On February 20, Huike 8.6 generation UHD new display device production line project started construction in Liuyang Economic Development Zone, Hunan Province. Huike project was settled in Liuyang Economic Development Zone in September 2019, with a total investment of 32 billion yuan, covering an area of 1200 mu. It will build the first large-scale OLED production line in China. The construction period of the project is about 18 months. It is estimated that 138000 panels will be produced per month. The main products are 4K, 8K, 10K and other ultra-high-definition large-size display panels, and the photoelectric display Research Institute is set up to be responsible for the research of new generation display technology and materials. The project is expected to achieve an annual output value of more than 15 billion yuan.

On March 3, TCL Huaxing and Sanan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. signed a “strategic cooperation memorandum”, and the two sides will jointly establish a joint laboratory. The joint laboratory will focus on the development of micro LED display technology, focus on the key technologies of chip, transfer, bonding, colorization, detection and repair of micro LED display engineering manufacturing, and engage in the R & D and trial production of commercial display prototype of wearable display, high-definition mobile display, vehicle mounted display, high-definition large-scale display and super large-scale splicing. The registered capital of the joint laboratory is 300 million yuan, 55% of which is contributed by TCL Huaxing and 45% by Sanan semiconductor.

On the same day, the ultra-thin glass substrate deep processing project of Zhejiang Taijia Photoelectric Technology Co., Ltd., with an investment of 16 billion yuan in phase I, officially laid the foundation. Taijia photoelectric ultra-thin glass substrate deep processing project is invested and constructed by Shenzhen hefengtai Technology Co., Ltd. after the completion of the project, the annual production capacity of 1.44 million ultra-high definition liquid crystal panels will be formed.

On March 4, the last 42 ᦇ production plant of csot T7 project (referred to as 42 ා box plant) was successfully capped, and since then, the main structure has been fully capped. Csot T7 project is located in Guangming District, Shenzhen. It is planned to build production and auxiliary production equipment, power facilities, environmental protection facilities, safety facilities, fire-fighting facilities, management facilities and corresponding buildings (structures). The total construction area of 42 box factory is more than 130000 square meters. It is estimated that the annual output value of csot T7 project is about 30 billion yuan, and the design capacity is 140000 pieces / month. It mainly focuses on ultra high definition products such as super large size, 4K / 8K, etc.

On the morning of March 5, Mianyang high tech Zone and Kangning display technology signed a cooperation agreement in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. The total investment of Kangning display technology project is about 160 million US dollars, and two 8.5 + glass substrate production lines are invested in Mianyang high tech Zone. According to the relevant personnel of Kangning science and technology, Kangning display plans to set up a wholly-owned company to operate the project in the new display industrial park of Mianyang high tech Zone. After the completion of the project, the chain of Mianyang new display industry will be more complete.

At the same time, in Guangzhou, 2000 km away, LGD began to move some of its equipment into the plant, making all-out efforts for the normal operation of Guangzhou’s 8.5-generation OLED plant. In addition to ensuring the production line manufacturing equipment, the company will also re invest R & D personnel from South Korea to Guangzhou to prepare for mass production. The Guangzhou plant, which started production last year, mainly produces 55, 65, and 77 inch large-size OLED panels. Although the yield of OLED panels was climbing in the early stage of production, it has recently recovered to normal through process improvement and component improvement. LGD said it was fully committed to ensure that the Guangzhou plant completed its mass production preparations in the first quarter.

It is understood that in 2019, there will be six panel production lines completed in China, and these production lines will gradually achieve full production in the first half of 2020. At present, the global TV prices have gradually stabilized and rebounded, the panel supply and demand pattern has been greatly improved, and the industry is ushering in a new round of upward boom cycle. In 2020, there will be at least two high generation TFT-LCD and two flexible OLED production lines in China, and China’s panel capacity will continue to maintain a high growth trend.
