On September 9, 2021, the leading distributor of semiconductor components committed to the Asia Pacific market – General United holdings announced that its Shiping launched a power supply scheme for epidemic prevention medical instruments based on ONSEMI ncp1618.

A century virus has brought earth shaking impact to mankind. In the process of national anti epidemic, major hospitals have an urgent demand for epidemic prevention medical instruments such as respirators, nucleic acid detectors, mask machines and critical medical monitors. As the basis of electronic medical instruments, the demand for power supply also shows a surge trend. In the face of this situation, the General Assembly Shiping launched a 500W epidemic prevention medical instrument power supply solution based on ONSEMI’s ncp1618 to meet the application requirements of global epidemic prevention medical instruments for higher power supply.

Ncp1618 is a new generation of high-performance IC. The product has built-in HV start-up circuit, which can provide intelligent conversion of continuous current mode (CCM), critical current mode (CRM), discontinuous current mode (DCM) and other working modes. In addition, the product can provide efficient and stable power factor correction circuit under universal input and different load conditions. Compared with the previous generation ncp1616, this product has increased 30MW in light load standby and 2% in synchronous full load efficiency. Therefore, ncp1618 is the best choice for medical instrument power supply that needs high reliability requirements.
