The first starting mode of 220V AC single-phase motor is split phase starting, as shown in Figure 1. It is assisted by the auxiliary starting winding, and its starting torque is small. The operating speed is approximately maintained at a constant value. It is mainly used in electric fan, air conditioning fan motor, washing machine and other motors. Second, when the motor is stationary, the centrifugal switch is connected. After power is supplied, the starting capacitor participates in the starting work. When the rotor speed reaches 70% to 80% of the rated value, the centrifugal switch will automatically jump off, and the starting capacitor completes the task and is disconnected. The starting winding does not participate in the operation, but the motor continues to operate with the operating winding coil, as shown in Figure 2. Third, when the motor is stationary, the centrifugal switch is connected. After power is supplied, the starting capacitor participates in the starting work. When the rotor speed reaches 70% to 80% of the rated value, the centrifugal switch will automatically jump off, and the starting capacitor completes the task and is disconnected. The operating capacitor is connected in series to the starting winding to participate in the operation. This connection method is generally used in air compressors, cutting machines, woodworking machines and other places with large and unstable loads. As shown in Figure 3.

For the motor with centrifugal switch, if the motor cannot be started successfully in a short time, the winding coil will be burned out soon. Capacitance value: double value capacitance motor has large starting capacitance and small operating capacitance, and the withstand voltage is generally greater than 400V.

Forward and reverse control:

Figure 4 is the wiring diagram with a forward and reverse switch. Generally, the resistance values of the starting winding and the running winding of this motor are the same, that is, the starting winding and the running winding of the motor have the same wire diameter and coil number. This kind of motor is commonly used in washing machines. This forward and reverse control method is simple and does not need complex transfer switch.

Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 show the forward and reverse control, and the reverse can be completed only by adjusting 1-2 lines or 3-4 lines.

For the judgment of starting and running windings in Figure 1, figure 2 and figure 3, generally, the DC resistance of starting winding is much larger than that of running winding, which can be measured with a multimeter. Generally, the DC resistance of the operating winding is several ohms, while the DC resistance of the starting winding is more than ten ohms to tens of ohms.
