SIMCom’s new-generation multi-mode GNSS module SIM65M has entered the mass production stage. Based on the previous generation, this series of products has been improved in terms of chip platform, number of satellite systems, and performance, which can more effectively support the development of IoT products.

SIMCom’s new-generation single-frequency GNSS module SIM65M supports multi-constellation satellite positioning signals, including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS, and also supports SBAS (Star-Based Augmentation System) to improve the positioning accuracy of satellite navigation systems. With more satellites to choose from, the SIM65M receiver can select the satellite with the best performance and best geometry for more accurate readings. The client can utilize more measurement results to improve data reliability, reducing the probability of position measurement being blocked or unknowingly receiving the wrong position.

SIM65M has powerful satellite signal receiving capability, supports up to 47 satellite signal channels, and can capture and track any combination of satellite signals. Among them, SIM65M supports the latest Beidou-3 B1C frequency point. The B1C signal is specially optimized for high-sensitivity receivers and anti-multipath performance to ensure reliable reception in harsh environments, and can effectively solve the problem of urban building occlusion.

SIM65M adopts AIROHA’s latest generation 22nm process GNSS chip and classic small-size package, which has the advantages of higher integration and stronger functions. The power consumption is 28% lower than that of the previous generation of products, and it can be deeply integrated with communication, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and other products, which can effectively reduce product development costs, shorten the development cycle, and improve product competitiveness.

On the basis of multi-satellite system and performance optimization, the static positioning accuracy of SIM65M reaches 2 meters, which is 20% higher than that of the previous generation, which can meet the positioning needs of Internet of Things products such as vehicle navigation, wearable devices, drones and trackers. With the assistance of EPOTM (satellite orbit prediction) technology, the startup speed of SIM65M is about 15 seconds, and the hot startup only takes 1 second, allowing end users to quickly obtain real-time location information.

In order to improve the positioning performance, SIM65M also integrates an LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) ​​to amplify the weak signal received by the system, thereby improving the sensitivity of the receiver. At the same time, the ability to receive satellite signals is further enhanced through jamming removal technology. In addition, the embedded EASYTM auxiliary system (Embedded Assist System) can save the auxiliary ephemeris data, shorten the warm start time by 90%, and its AlwayslocateTM power saving mode can extend the battery life, more intelligently control the power consumption of the receiver and maintain the position information.
