Today, Tianjin North released a statement on the company’s official media account that a listed company plans to raise funds for “RF module chip R & D and industrialization project” and supplement working capital. If the above projects infringe the company’s intellectual property rights, technical secrets and other legitimate rights, it will take protective measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.

On April 2 this year, Jingwei Huikai announced that the capital contribution dispute between Tianjin North and Jingwei Huikai shareholders was accepted by the court.

“Plan for issuing a shares to specific objects in 2020” issued in December 2020. According to the announcement of the plan, “the company plans to issue non-public shares to no more than 35 specific investors and raise no more than 1.3 billion yuan for RF module chip R & D and industrialization projects and supplement working capital”.

According to public information, on July 20, 2020, Jingwei Huikai announced that it had reached two equity investment agreements with Tianjin North, with an investment of 4.4 million yuan and 123 million yuan respectively. Jingwei Huikai accumulated 127.4 million yuan to Tianjin North and held 10.22% equity of North microsystem.

According to Tianjin North’s official website, North (Tianjin) microsystems Co., Ltd. is a service provider of MEMS filter chips for RF front-end wireless devices and the first FBAR manufacturer in China. Its products mainly adopt thin-film bulk acoustic resonator (FBAR) technology and micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) manufacturing technology on silicon substrate. It has 330 BAW invention patents at home and abroad and more than 100 international PCT patents. It has many years of technical precipitation in the field of filters and the advantages of IDM business model.

Jingwei Huikai was founded in 1999 and implemented the shareholding system reform in December 2008. It operates two main businesses: electronic information and power and electricity, and has mature technologies in the fields of LCD and transmission equipment.

The strong cooperation between Tianjin North and Jingwei Huikai became a good story in the development history of 5g RF filter at that time, and even made the stock price of Jingwei Huikai rise by 102.49% from the date of announcement to the end of the month.

On March 31 this year, Tianjin North issued a statement saying that it had not reached an M & A intention and cooperation agreement with any listed company, and any report on the acquisition of our company was untrue.

With the development of the industry, there are more and more disputes about technology patents, and the patent war is full of smoke. In addition to Tianjin North, domestic RF chip manufacturers such as Beijing Angrui Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (before renaming: Beijing zhongkehantianxia Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.), Shenzhen Feixiang Technology Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Huizhi Microelectronics Co., Ltd. have also initiated rights protection statements.

In 2018, Angrui micro launched a statement to protect its rights, saying that the models “5124” and “5169” produced by Shenzhen Feixiang Technology Co., Ltd. are suspected of infringing the intellectual property rights of hantianxia chips. Subsequently, Feixiang technology responded that angruiwei’s behavior was suspected of unfair competition, and the company also issued a solemn statement.

In 2019, Shenzhen Feixiang Technology Co., Ltd. issued a statement saying that several models of RF power amplifier products manufactured, promised for sale and sold by Guangzhou Huizhi Microelectronics Co., Ltd. were suspected of infringing the company’s zl201110025537 No. x invention patent right, bring a lawsuit to relevant units.

The author believes that whether at home or abroad, the outbreak of patent war has become an inevitable trend of industry development, but it is more important to improve their own core technology and compete with strength, better design and equipment performance.
