Not long ago, oppo’s patent on pop-up front lens of polarizing refraction prism was exposed, which caused a lot of hot discussion among netizens. When netizens were still discussing the feasibility of this technology, oppo’s patent on front lens was exposed again.

According to letsgodigital, oppo submitted a patent related to “mobile front camera” to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2020, which was officially announced on January 28, 2021.

From the description of the patent document, this new patent shows the design of a horizontal front camera. The biggest highlight is the front lens that can slide from one end of the top frame to the other end.

It is reported that oppo has designed a structural design similar to the slide rail on the top of the fuselage, which drives the front lens to slide left and right on the rail through the built-in micro motor of the mobile phone.

The media said that in the normal state, the front lens is in a fixed position. When the user uses the front camera, the position of the front lens can be automatically adjusted according to the user’s demand, so as to meet the user’s multi angle self shooting and solve the problem of poor self shooting angle selection.

In this regard, some netizens said that oppo is really a “brain hole”, with this function, even if the mobile phone does not move, it can easily move the mirror, saving time and effort, and there is no need to buy a PTZ separately.

Oppo demonstration front lens can slide horizontally related patents

It is understood that as of December 31 last year, oppo has applied for more than 57000 patents worldwide and authorized more than 24000 patents worldwide.

Among them, there are more than 51000 invention patent applications, accounting for 89% of all patent applications.

The new patent of the front lens not only adds a new patent reserve for oppo, but also fully demonstrates its strong technical R & D strength.

So whether this unique front lens patent can be mass produced or not is worthy of attention.
