Nokia today announced that its new 5g SA industry-class wireless private network solution is commercially available worldwide, providing a roadmap to meet the needs of the most demanding industrial and manufacturing scenarios.
With the launch of 5g SA, Nokia provides its customers with the most comprehensive product line of high-performance 4.9g/lte and 5g wireless private network solutions in the market.

Since the first quarter of 2020, Nokia has been conducting field trials with customers and mobile operator partners throughout the development of its 5g SA dedicated wireless solution. Nokia has more than 180 wireless private network customers worldwide, of which more than 30 use 5g. Nokia recently announced 5g wireless private network deployment cases, including German railway, Lufthansa technology and Toyota production engineering.
With Nokia’s new 5g SA solution, enterprise customers can choose to deploy ndac (Nokia digital automation cloud), a compact, plug and play system that can realize automation. Alternatively, they can use Nokia MPW (modular wireless private network) to further customize their own network as needed.
Nokia also announced today that Sandvik mining and rock technology will deploy Nokia 5g SA wireless private network at its pilot mine in Tampere, Finland.

By launching 5g SA commercial wireless private network, Nokia also enables OEMs and ecosystem partners to accelerate the verification of 5g functions. This will help start the development of industry assets with 5g capability, accelerate application development, and integrate 5g into future industry processes and systems.
In addition to cooperating with the wireless private network ecosystem (including operators, cloud partners, system integrators, strategic consultants and industry experts), Nokia will also apply its industry expertise to enable users to benefit from the changes brought by 5g in specific industry scenarios.
With 3GPP R15 SA architecture providing the standard for 5g private network in the industry, Nokia’s 5g SA wireless private network will become the preferred platform for realizing relevant functions and improvements in the industry in the future. These features include ultra reliable low delay communication (urllc), time sensitive network (TSN), and many other industry capabilities that will be provided in the future 5g 3GPP Version (r16-18).
Today’s release also responds to the needs of markets such as Germany, Japan and the UK. Due to the availability of 5g spectrum locally, these markets are very important for the early deployment of 5g technology and its 5g ecosystem.
Nokia also announced the enhancement of its 4.9g/lte solution product line.

·The uplink bandwidth of TD-LTE config 0 is increased, which improves the uplink of video and machine based wireless private network applications.
· the support for 4.9g/lte slices is extended on the wireless private network solution, so that virtual end-to-end slices can be allocated for the requirements with high-performance KPIs in specific scenarios.
