Mouser has been a major proponent of FIRST (For InspiraTIon and RecogniTIon of Science and Technology) for many years. This institution is a well-known non-profit organization for advanced science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities for students. Mouser will sponsor FIRST online and offline competitions at the local, regional, national and international levels. Also sponsoring with Mouser is our valued manufacturer partner, Analog Devices, Inc.
Mouser will be sponsoring the Kit of Parts (KoP) for the 2020–2021 season as an authorized global distributor and will be the primary co-sponsor of the Texas FIRST-Texas State Cup. The Cup is scheduled for June 15-17 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Mouser also supports FIRST teams in its communities, providing funding to local high school teams.
Each FIRST robotics competition team will receive a set of parts (KoP system), including motors, batteries, control system, personal computer, and various combinations of automation components, but without any instructions. Teams must use the kits they receive to design robots that can perform specific tasks within a time limit.
In addition, Mouser will continue to exclusively sponsor the FIRST Championship Hall of Fame and is expected to resume offline activities in Houston and Detroit in the United States in 2022. The Hall of Fame honors the winning team with the Chairman's Award for the team that best demonstrates FIRST's goals and values.
