MediaTek released Tianji 800 Series 5g chips to create a new high-end of smart phones. Tianji 800 Series brings flagship functions and experience to mid tier 5g smartphones.
MediaTek recently released Tianji 800 Series 5g chips, bringing flagship functions, energy efficiency and experience to medium and high-end 5g smartphones, and helping to create “new high-end” smartphones.
MediaTek Tianji series 5g chips integrate 5g modem, with high integration system single chip (SOC) solution, which can bring powerful functions. MediaTek integrates the world’s leading innovative technologies such as communication, multimedia, AI and imaging into 5g single chip with 7Nm process. The first batch of terminals equipped with Tianji 800 Series 5g chips will be launched in the first half of 2020.
Li Zonglin, general manager of MediaTek wireless communications division, said: “MediaTek has launched the flagship 5g smart phone single chip Tianji 1000 series. Now, through Tianji 800 series, 5g has been brought into the middle end and mass market. Advanced technology should be shared by all. Tianji 800 series will help the segment market of 5g “new high-end” smart phones, and bring flagship functions and experience to consumers at the middle end price. “
Tianji 800 series is highly integrated with MediaTek’s 5g modem, which can significantly reduce power consumption compared with external plug-in solutions. Tianji 800 Series 5g chips support 5g dual carrier aggregation (2cc CA). Compared with other solutions that only support single carrier (1cc without CA), 5g high-speed layer coverage is expanded by 30%, which can realize seamless handover of multiple connections, and has higher average throughput performance.
Tianji 800 Series 5g chips support independent (SA) and non independent (NSA) networking in sub-6ghz band, 2G to 5g cellular network connection, and dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) technology. The chips also support vonr voice service, which can connect seamlessly across the network, and provide 5g voice and data services at the same time. In addition, the energy efficiency of 5g modem integrated with this series of chips is obviously better than other solutions on the market.
The functions and specifications of Tianji 800 Series confirm MediaTek’s “new high end” strategy of providing high-end functions to the mid market. Features of MediaTek Tianji 800 series include:
·Four “big core” high performance cores: Tianji 800 series has strong performance. It adopts four “big core” cortex-a76 with main frequency up to 2GHz, and four energy-efficient cortex-a55 cores with main frequency up to 2GHz. Tianji 800 series takes the lead in introducing this advanced 4-core flagship architecture into the mainstream market. With the high-performance multi-core architecture, the game starts and runs more quickly and smoothly, and the multi-threaded performance is significantly improved.
·Flagship GPU: Tianji 800 series adopts 4-core GPU of the same level as Tianji 1000 and combines with MediaTek hyperengine game optimization engine to provide flagship game experience.
·Independent AI processor APU 3.0: Tianji 800 series adopts a unique 4-core architecture apu3.0, which is composed of three different types of cores, and can provide AI performance up to 2.4 tops. The hardware design of MediaTek APU core is more efficient for fp16 and more accurate for AI photographing.
·Amazing imaging: the Tianji 800 series uses the flagship image signal processor (ISP), which can support up to four cameras, 64 million pixel sensor and various multi camera combinations, such as 32 million + 16 million pixel dual camera for depth of field shooting.
·AI camera function upgrade: MediaTek introduces the flagship AI camera enhancement to Tianji 800 series, including AI autofocus, auto exposure, auto white balance, AI NR, AI HDR and face detection, as well as the world’s first multi frame 4K HDR video function.
·Smooth display: Tianji 800 series can support full HD + display with up to 90hz refresh rate.
