According to reports, Knowles, a global supplier and market leader of Advanced Micro acoustics, audio processing and precision equipment solutions, recently announced the latest aisonic Series Audio edge processor ia8201.
As the first processor specially designed for advanced audio and machine learning applications, it can provide more energy-saving, more powerful intelligence and privacy protection at the edge of the network.
According to reports, Knowles, a global supplier and market leader of Advanced Micro acoustics, audio processing and precision equipment solutions, recently announced the latest aisonic Series Audio edge processor ia8201. Ia8201 provides powerful voice activation and multi microphone audio processing, and is optimized for power sensitive applications. The processor can provide powerful computing performance for the most advanced consumer electronics products, and realize advanced audio output, context awareness, gesture control and other applications.
Using ia8201 to process audio and voice can turn off the power consuming main processor as long as possible, thus prolonging the battery life. Ia8201 can provide better far-field pickup understanding and command processing in noisy real environment. In addition, it also provides new audio application cases beyond the capacity of the main processor, providing a more natural user experience by sensing voice, audio and other sensor inputs at the same time.
“Today’s consumers want better pickup accuracy in their electronics to drive smart audio systems with more microphones and more processing power. At the same time, device manufacturers are also very active in protecting user privacy, so that more processing and personal information can be kept on the device. All in all, it brings great challenges for designers to realize these enhancements and cloud computing locally, “said Mike, President of Lou’s electronic intelligent audio Polacek said, “Lou’s aisonic audio edge processor can provide advanced multi microphone processing, with an efficiency of 10-100 times that of general-purpose processor, which can help our customers design highly competitive products to meet the performance and privacy requirements of end users.”
About ia8201 audio processing
Ia8201 audio processor has recently started to send samples to customers. Ia8201 contains 1.44MB of memory, multiple interface options, and a dual 175 MHz core with voltage regulation. It is packaged in micro 2.6 x 3 mm ewlb and 6.0 x 6.0 mm QFN.
The low power consumption of dual core implementation provides the best combination of optimized instruction and industrial compatibility.
Ia8201 includes a high-performance 128 bit core (DMX) with Lou’s proprietary instruction set and a Tensilica hifi 3 core (HMD), both of which have Lou’s audio enhancement. DMX is a 4-way floating point single instruction multiple data processor, which aims to achieve high performance computing, while HMD adopts bidirectional floating point single instruction multiple data processor for high efficiency, low power consumption and voice wake-up applications. Both cores contain dedicated accelerators for FFT, peak seeking and DNN.
Ia8201 solution provides large capacity memory (1.4MB), suitable for specific application cases and single cycle access, low power architecture. Large memory can be used to store various keyword models, engines or other algorithms.
