According to relevant data, in the third quarter of 2018, LCD TV shipments from Taiwan manufacturers increased by 11.4% month on month, and it is expected to achieve another 14.7% month on month increase in the fourth quarter.

Driven by the increased shipments of Vizio and Amazon (fire TV), the North American market has once again become the largest export market of Taiwan’s TV shipments.

In terms of TV size, the shipments of TVs above 50 inches will account for 40% of Taiwan’s total TV shipments in the fourth quarter, while large-size 4K Ultra HD models will also account for about 50% of the total shipments.

In 2018, Japanese brands will become the largest customers in Taiwan’s TV market. However, since the third quarter, with the increase of seasonal demand, Taiwan manufacturers have increased shipments to the United States and Europe, so the proportion of TV shipments to Japan began to decline. From October to December, the shipment volume of Chinese Mainland will account for 10% of the total shipment volume.

In terms of supplier ranking, TPV technology and Foxconn electronics still ranked in the top two in the third quarter, but the proportion of the combined total shipments of the two manufacturers in the total TV shipments in Taiwan fell to less than 70% in the third quarter and is expected to continue to decline in the fourth quarter.

As for other manufacturers, due to the increase of orders from Xiaomi and Vizio, the shipment volume of Ruixuan technology will also increase in the fourth quarter; The shipments of Compal Electronics also increased due to orders from Toshiba for its fire TV; Qunchuang photoelectric machine shipments will also soar in the fourth quarter.
