China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) today released the 47th statistical report on the development of China’s Internet. The report shows that by December 2020, the number of Internet users in China had reached 989million, and the total number of Internet users in China has accounted for about one fifth of the global Internet users.
In terms of occupational structure, the number of middle school students in China’s Internet users group is the largest, accounting for 21.0%; In terms of the academic structure of Internet users, 43% of Internet users have junior high school education.
In terms of income structure, the proportion of Internet users with a monthly income of 2001-5000 yuan was 32.7%; The proportion of Internet users with a monthly income of more than 5000 yuan was 29.3%; The proportion of Internet users with income but monthly income of 1000 yuan or less accounted for 15.3%.
Among netizens under one year old, netizens under 20 account for 17.1 percentage points higher than that of the total netizens; The proportion of Internet users over 60 years old is 11.0 percentage points higher than that of this group in the total Internet users.
