How to judge whether the carbon canister is blocked

After the car has driven for some distance, stop the car, keep the engine running, and then poke the filler cap with your hand. If there is a suction sound, it means that the carbon canister is blocked. In addition, when the carbon canister is blocked, the car will have an obvious smell of gasoline. If the car is placed outdoors for a long time, a large amount of gas will be sprayed out after opening the fuel tank cap, which also indicates that the car’s carbon canister is blocked.

If it is summer, when the carbon canister is blocked, the oil and gas in the oil tank is easy to expand. If it cannot be discharged in time and stored in the oil tank or oil circuit, it will cause air resistance in the oil circuit. Moreover, when the carbon canister is blocked, the pipe leading to the fuel tank is blocked, and the fuel tank will swell, which is easy to affect the normal operation of the engine, which needs attention. Therefore, when the carbon canister is found to be blocked, it shall be cleaned or replaced in time.

The carbon canister is easy to be blocked due to dust absorption. A mushroom head can be installed to prevent dust. If the dust blocks the return gas of the carbon canister, the return gas can be turned off and blown clean. If the canister is filled with gasoline or damaged, it needs to be replaced. Generally, if there is a problem with the carbon canister, it is recommended to replace it directly, together with the solenoid valve.
