528 5g independent devices announced to support sub-6ghz band

London, UK – August 11, 2021 – GSA today confirmed that the number of 5g devices announced exceeded 900 for the first time. At present, 938 5g devices have been announced, an increase of 24.1% over the previous quarter. It is understood that the number of commercial 5g devices has also increased, an increase of 29.9% over the same period. Now it has exceeded 600 for the first time, reaching 608, accounting for 64.8% of the total number of 5g devices announced. Of these commercial 5g devices, more than 400 are mobile phones. The new “5g equipment ecosystem August 2021” report shows that 143 suppliers have announced available or upcoming 5g equipment. Among the 22 different dimensions, the equipment recorded by GSA includes 450 5g mobile phones, of which at least 401 are now commercially available (an increase of 20 in one month). GSA also recorded 171 FWA CPE equipment (indoor and outdoor), of which 67 are now commercially available.

By the end of July 2021, GSA has determined that:

  1. 22 declared dimensions
  2. 143 suppliers of 5g equipment that have announced availability or are about to launch
  3. 938 announced devices (including regional variants, but excluding operator branded devices that are basically rebinding versions of other mobile phones), including 608 devices understood as commercially available:
  • 450 mobile phones (19 more than in June), of which at least 401 are now commercially available (20 more in a month)
  • 171 FWA CPE equipment (indoor and outdoor), of which 67 are now commercially available
  • 134 module
  • 60 industrial / enterprise router / gateway / modem
  • 43 battery powered hot spots
  • 17 tables
  • 15 laptop (laptop)
  • 10 on board router / modem / hotspot
  • 38 other devices include UAV, head mounted display, robot, TV, USB terminal / dongle / modem, camera, femtocell / small cell, repeater, vehicle OBU, snap on dongle / adapter, switch, etc
  • 528 5g independent devices announced to support sub-6ghz band, of which 365 have been commercially available
