For electric vehicles, the biggest short board also began to change from low mileage to long charging time. At present, the range of NEDC of some domestic electric vehicles is often 500 km.
For car owners, the driving range has been able to meet the demand of commuting in the urban area, but what they can’t bear is that the charging time is too long. Queue up at the charging station, grab piles, and then wait for another hour or two to charge.
However, the problem of long battery charging time can only rely on the breakthrough of battery technology. On the GAC technology day in July this year, GAC group presented its latest graphene technology, which greatly shortened the charging time, and also attracted the wide attention of the industry.
Based on graphene’s excellent conductivity and special three-dimensional structure, GAC has developed a super fast charging battery, which can charge 80% of the battery in 8 minutes, realize charging for 10 minutes, and last 200-300 km, with a charging speed comparable to refueling, officials said.
At present, GAC has preliminarily verified graphene technology from cell, module and vehicle.
Today, in response to the question about the time of mass production of graphene battery, GAC group said: at present, the research and development of graphene battery is continuing. The company expects to move this technology to the real vehicle mass production test by the end of this year, and whether the final mass production can be realized still needs to wait for the real vehicle verification results.
It is understood that graphene materials are mainly used in fast charging lithium-ion batteries, super capacitors, lithium sulfur batteries and lightweight body materials.
However, the high cost of preparation has always been a big barrier for other enterprises. GAC’s 3DG preparation method is simple, stable and efficient. The three-dimensional multi-stage porous graphene can effectively overcome the cost defects, and the production cost can reach 1 / 10 of the conventional preparation method, which has practical operation space for mass production.
It can be met that with the arrival of GAC’s graphene battery, the domestic battery technology pattern may usher in a new round of innovation and leap forward progress.
