On October 26, at the Asian optical fiber communication and Optoelectronics International Conference (ACP / ipoc2020) held in Beijing, Wang Libiao, vice president of transmission and access product line of Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., issued the theme report of F5G progress and prospect. In his speech, he introduced the current progress of F5G international standards, shared the innovative applications of F5G in global families, parks, data centers, smart cities and other fields, and called for strengthening the close cooperation between industry, University and research to jointly build F5G all-optical network and release the new momentum of digital economy.

Wang Libiao pointed out that the optical network technology has developed to the fifth generation. The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has made a comprehensive exposition on the intergenerational F5G: with 10gpon, WiFi 6, 200g, OTN and OXC as the representative technologies, the fifth generation fixed network technology F5G, with Gigabit broadband connection, Tbit level transport capacity and 5g, helps the cloud computing power and AI intelligence, and jointly enables the digitization of the industry, Is the cornerstone of the digital economy.
Since its establishment in early December 2019, f5gisg has flourished and attracted the active participation of many industrial partners, including 51 members from operators, equipment manufacturers, vertical industries and research institutions.
Not long ago, at the bbwf2020 online f5gpanel meeting, Luca pesando, chairman of etsiisgf5g, grandly released F5G release 1.0: F5G intergenerational definition, F5G white paper and f5gusecaser1 with 14 use cases. Among them, F5G intergenerational definition formally summarizes the key features of f1g ~ F5G intergenerational by analyzing and summarizing the intergenerational evolution of resident network, access network, transmission and aggregation network and end-to-end all-optical network, and defines F5G intergenerational with three features such as efbb (Super bandwidth), FFC (all-optical connection) and GRE (extreme experience).
F5G’s four major business innovations have broad application prospects

At present, the innovation and commercialization of F5G has been highly concerned by the global optical network industry. Looking forward to the possible evolution direction of the next generation in the future, it will continue to evolve along the three dimensions of FFC (all-optical connection), efbb (enhanced fixed network broadband) and GRE (guaranteed experience), and study key technologies such as 50gpon, WiFi 7 and 800g backbone optical transmission. The domestic industry and academia have excellent practical environment and theoretical basis. International Conference on Asian optical fiber communication and Optoelectronics
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference and Exhibition (ACP) is the largest optical communication, photonics and related technology summit in the Asia Pacific region.
