Did you save fuel by replacing the carbon canister solenoid valve

The damage of carbon canister solenoid valve will not only increase fuel consumption, but also affect the normal operation of automobile engine.

Difficult to start the engine (carbon canister solenoid valve is normally open): since the carbon canister solenoid valve is normally open, the air in the intake pipe will be filled with oil vapor. When the engine is started, the excessive combustible mixture will cause difficulty in starting the engine or even flameout.

Oil vapor leakage (carbon canister solenoid valve is normally closed): since the carbon canister solenoid valve is normally closed, the oil vapor adsorbed and stored in the carbon canister cannot be discharged, resulting in an increase in the pressure in the oil tank and finally the oil vapor is leaked from the pressure relief valve on the oil tank cover.

The failure of the carbon canister solenoid valve may also affect the normal operation of the vehicle engine. If the solenoid valve is always closed, the gasoline vapor in the carbon canister will accumulate more and more, and finally overflow, causing waste and polluting the environment. If the solenoid valve is always on, the mixture in the engine inlet will always be enriched, and at the same time, the engine control unit will not issue the command to reduce the fuel injection amount because it has not controlled the operation of the carbon canister solenoid valve at this time, which will cause the engine to shut down due to too rich mixture during hot vehicle and difficult to start after hot vehicle shut down.

If the carbon canister solenoid valve is broken, the car will leak. Before the car is ignited, the gasoline vapor will volatilize into the cylinder, which will lead to too high concentration of combustible mixture and difficult starting of the car, which is very fuel consuming. At the same time, if the mixture is too rich, resulting in insufficient combustion, the engine ECU will make corrections through judgment, resulting in lean fuel injection and increased fuel consumption. Therefore, replacing the carbon canister solenoid valve can save fuel to a certain extent.

Will the broken carbon canister affect the power

Carbon canister is an automobile fuel vapor adsorption and desorption device, which is a device to reduce the emission of gasoline evaporation in automobile fuel tank and carburetor. The tank is filled with active substances. When the engine working solenoid valve is turned on, the engine will suck the fuel vapor in the fuel tank and the steam adsorbed by active substances into the intake pipe. After the engine is shut down, the gasoline vapor and fresh air are mixed in the tank and stored in the activated carbon tank. If the carbon canister is broken, there may be a problem with the solenoid valve. Closing the solenoid valve will only overflow the atmosphere, pollute the environment and waste fuel. When the solenoid valve is opened, the concentration of mixed gas will increase and the engine will shut down. If the air filter screen is blocked, the acceleration will be high and low during driving, affecting the acceleration.

Because the function of carbon canister is only to protect the environment and save fuel, even if it is broken, it has little impact on the power of the vehicle.
