At the CES 2020 conference, amd officially released the sharp dragon 4000 series notebook processor, which is based on the brand-new 7Nm technology, Zen 2 CPU architecture, Vega GPU architecture, including the Reebok 4000U series for lightweight books, the Reebok 4000H series for game books, and an entry-level speed dragon 3000u series.
At the meeting, Su Zifeng only introduced two flagship models, namely, the Ruilong and the Ruilong 74800h. In fact, there are quite a number of new models. Let’s take a look at them in detail.
There are five models in the Reebok 4000U series, and the thermal design power consumption is only 15W. This is the first time that the lightweight version has ushered in core threads. However, it should be noted that three models do not support multithreading.
Ruilong 7 4800u: 8 cores and 16 threads, the main frequency is 1.8-4.2ghz, the second level cache is 4MB, the third level cache is 8MB, the integration of Vega 8 GPU, 512 stream processors, frequency 1750mhz.
Ruilong 7 4700u: 8 cores and 8 threads, the main frequency is 2.0-4.1ghz, the second level cache is 4MB, the third level cache is 8MB, the integration of Vega 7 GPU, 448 stream processors, frequency 1600MHZ.
Ruilong 54600u: 6 core, 12 threads, main frequency 2.1-4.0ghz, level 2 cache 3MB, level 3 cache 8MB, Vega 6 GPU integrated, 384 stream processors, frequency 1500mhz.
Ruilong 5 4500u: 6 cores and 6 threads, the main frequency is 2.3-4.0ghz, the second level cache is 3MB, the third level cache is 8MB, Vega 6 GPU is integrated, 384 stream processors are used, and the frequency is 1500mhz.
Ruilong 3 4300u: 4 cores and 4 threads, the main frequency is 2.7-3.7ghz, the second level cache is 2MB, the third level cache is 4MB, the integration of Vega 5 GPU, 320 stream processors, frequency 1400mhz.
Amd claims that compared with the previous generation, the sharp dragon 4000U has a power consumption reduction of up to 20%, energy efficiency of up to 2 times, energy saving state entry and recovery delay up to 5 times, and new support for lpddr4x memory.
In terms of performance, compared with the flagship model i7-1065g7 (4 cores and 8 threads / 1.3-3.9ghz / 15W) of Intel 10 nm ice lake core family, the CPU single thread leads by about 4%, the CPU multithreading leads by about 90%, the content creation leads by up to 49%, and the GPU graphics leads by about 28%. It can be competent for most online games and mainstream games under 1080p low image quality.
The Reebok 4000U slim edition will have more than 20 designs in the first quarter and more than 100 designs in the year.
The speedo 3000u series can be regarded as the entry-level version of the Reebok 4000U series. It is aimed at mainstream and low-end lightweight books. It supports a series of mainstream experience features, such as usb-c, fast start, multimedia codec, windows Hello, windows ink, touch screen, S mode standby, etc.
There are only two models of the speedo 3000u series, both of which have dual cores. The thermal design power consumption is 15W. Interestingly, it is also divided into gold medal and silver medal. Obviously, it is benchmarked with Pentium gold series.
Ruilong gold 3150U: 2 cores and 4 threads, the main frequency is 2.4-3.3ghz, the second level cache is 1MB, and the third level cache is 4MB. The specific stream processor is not disclosed in the integrated rad GPU.
Ruilong silver 3050u: 2 cores, 2 threads, main frequency 2.3-3.2ghz, L2 cache 1MB, L3 cache 4MB, and integrated with the radon GPU.
Amd claims that compared with the Pentium gold medal, the speeddragon 3150U has a 43% and 39% lead in single and multi-threaded performance, 90% in graphics performance and 39% in office performance.
The Ruilong 4000H series has only two models. The thermal design power consumption is 45W and both support multithreading.
Ruilong 7 4800h: 8-core 16 core thread, main frequency 2.9-4.2ghz, level 2 cache 4MB, level 3 cache 8MB, Vega 7 GPU integrated, 448 stream processors, frequency 1600MHZ.
Ruilong 54600h: 6 core with 12 threads, the main frequency is 3.0-4.0ghz, the second level cache is 3MB, and the third level cache is 8MB. It integrates Vega 6 GPU, 384 stream processors, and the frequency is 1500mhz.
Amd claims that the multi-threaded performance of Ruilong 4800h is 46% ahead of i7-8750h (5% ahead of single thread), and even 7% ahead of i7-9700k of desktop level. At the same time, graphics performance is 39% and 10% ahead of i7-9750h, and content creation performance is about 30% ahead of i7-9750h.
However, in addition to ASUS Zephyrus G14, amd did not disclose more game book designs based on the Reebok 4000H, nor did it say how many models it will have this year. It seems that AMD will continue to make breakthroughs in this area.
