Altium designer provides convenient and easy-to-use schematic input tools, as well as several time-saving and trouble-saving tips. Let’s introduce a few to you.

Object smart paste function (smart paste)

Copy and paste an object into another object. You can also add wires, combine signal sequences, and so on. For example, let’s show how to copy and paste the bus port into the network label of each branch bus. This is just an individual case. I believe you can find more useful pasting skills from the list of pasting objects.

1. Select port copy (Shortcut Ctrl + C): such as RB [0.. 7];

2. Edit > Smart Paste。 Paste the port into a network label and expand each branch of the bus;

3. Place automatically generated symbols.

Place wire (auto connected)

1. Place > Wires;

2. Press the shortcut key shift + space to switch the electrical connection mode to the dotted line connection mode;

3. Click both ends of the network to be connected with the mouse respectively.

Display cross over

1. Tools > Schematic Preferences > Schematic >General;

2. Select the display cross over function;

3. Schematic wiring automatic display mode.

Automatic generation of covert cross junctions

1. Tools > Schematic Preferences > Schematic > General;

2. Select the convert cross junctions function;

3. Schematic cross connection nodes will be separated automatically.
