Linear has introduced the LTC2320-16, a 16-bit, 1.5Msps per channel, no-delay successive approximation register (SAR) ADC with 8 simultaneous sampling channels and support for rail-to-rail input common-mode ranges. The LTC2320-16 has a flexible analog front end that accepts fully differential, unipolar or bipolar analog input signals and any input signal, maintaining an 82dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) when sampling input signals up to the Nyquist frequency ) and a high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 102dB. The wide input bandwidth of the LTC2320 allows input signals up to 750kHz Nyquist to be digitized.

The LTC2320-16 integrates a precision bandgap reference with low drift and a guaranteed maximum temperature coefficient of 20ppm/ºC in a small 55mm2 QFN-52 package, saving space in high density designs. Alternatively, for each two-channel pair, the internal reference can be overdriven by up to 4 separate external references to best suit the input range of the application. The LTC2320-16 samples 3x faster and consumes the lowest power than any 8-channel SAR ADC on the market.

The LTC2320-16 is the first device in a family of 16-, 14- and 12-bit SAR ADCs, available in single-, dual-, 4- and 8-channel versions with sampling rates up to 5Msps per channel. The entire family of devices accepts 8.192VP-P to 10VP-P true differential inputs and can be digitized over a wide input common-mode range without configuration for input signal type, ensuring flexibility in the input signal chain. The complete LTC2320 SAR ADC family offers flexible 3.3V or 5V power supply options, as well as CMOS or LVDS high-speed SPI-compatible serial interface options, ideal for a variety of high-speed and space-constrained applications, including industrial, medical equipment, communication systems, and batteries power supply system.
