On April 6, 2021, Allianz holdings, a leading distributor of semiconductor components in the Asia Pacific market, announced that its Quanding launched a Bluetooth headset solution based on qcc5141adaptiveanc adaptive active noise reduction (AANC).

In recent years, consumers’ demand for ANC active noise reduction is increasing year by year. It has become a general trend for headphone manufacturers to make use of ANC noise reduction function to create differentiated products. However, due to the different ways of ear insertion or fit, it is difficult for manufacturers to provide consistent active noise reduction performance. The Bluetooth headset solution based on the adaptive active noise reduction technology of qcomm by DLD can help customers to provide consistent performance level and excellent sound quality for consumers. It can adapt to the way that the earplug fits the user’s ear by adjusting the performance, so as to improve the user’s comfort and hearing experience.

In the traditional (FF) mode (static ANC), ANC technology can filter the input signal to produce anti noise. Assuming that the primary and secondary sound paths are static and known in advance, and are fixed in the ANC scene of headphones, the static ANC can achieve the best performance. But this requires the earphone to be airtight, and wearing it for a long time will produce a great sense of pressure on the ear.

Generally, the ANC scene of earphone is not fixed. The changes in the primary and secondary acoustic paths of the earphone depend on the position of the earphone device and the pressure between the device and the ear. An additional adaptive algorithm is added to AANC, which receives the noise input signal and error signal, and calculates the optimal filter value according to the change of primary and secondary paths. Traditional ff-anc only needs input signal, and adaptive algorithm also needs error signal. This adaptive anti noise signal provides a better user experience for noise elimination.
