We know that CCL is the basic material of PCB industry. Every manufacturer has strict requirements for the thickness of CCL, because its thickness directly affects the characteristic impedance of PCB. At present, most domestic copper clad laminate manufacturers use contact measurement, some are online measurement, some are offline sampling inspection. With the improvement of quality requirements, laser measurement method is gradually recognized by everyone and applied to the production line. Its advantages are beyond the reach of traditional measurement methods: continuous measurement without pause and improving productivity.

Through the limitation of error and the improvement of productivity, the manufacturer makes a profit. Lap’s solution for copper clad laminate measurement is three-point and has an automatic correction system. As shown in the figure below:

The above system can increase or decrease the measuring points according to the actual needs of customers. The measurement accuracy of this differential measurement method is not affected by the speed of the conveyor belt and the vertical runout of the plate, and the measurement of lap laser sensor is not affected by the color or texture of the plate surface. Therefore, the system can obtain stable and accurate measurement data.

1. The original automatic correction device is shown in the figure below. The device is set next to each group of sensors. When correction is needed, it is carried out through the execution button on the software. The pneumatic arm on the device will automatically extend to the measurement area, the standard module at the top of the pneumatic arm will rotate, the sensor will start to measure this module, and the software will automatically set the compensation value according to the standard value to achieve the purpose of correction. This eliminates the human error caused by manual correction and ensures the accuracy of system measurement.

2. The powerful software provides 9-point measurement values or 6-point measurement values commonly used in CCL industry (optional), online measurement scanning curve, maximum and minimum bar chart, cross-sectional thickness distribution diagram and statistical calculation table of measurement values for R & D. According to the above information, the quality control personnel can find out the reasons for further improvement of product quality.
