According to foreign media Engadget, apple recently announced a patent named “static pattern electrostatic haptic electrodes”, which is designed by touching buttons instead of physical buttons, while retaining the tapping force feedback of physical keys.
According to the patent information, Apple plans to combine tactile motor and electrostatic charge to create a keyboard similar to real objects. A flexible screen can simulate the touch feedback provided by the key when users type, and convey it to users through vibration brake. Because they take the shape of a keyboard, each key can react individually. The vibration brake is a component that provides tactile feedback for the first time after the virtual keyboard receives the input command. It can enhance the user experience and give the user a sense of using the real keyboard.
At present, Apple has only applied for this patent, but it is difficult to realize this patent. It is not clear whether Apple will apply it to actual products.
