Over the years, LED technology has been developing continuously, and people’s demand for high-quality, energy-efficient general lighting solutions is increasing. Manufacturers have been committed to developing LEDs that meet this requirement, and Ames OSRAM is no exception. Osconiq e 2835 CRI 90 (QD) pushes the efficiency value to a new level and maintains excellent efficiency even in the case of very high color rendering index and warm color light. The special 2835 package brings further system advantages to lamp manufacturers.

Quantum dot (QD) is a special semiconductor particle. When irradiated with blue light, this particle will emit light of different wavelengths due to different sizes. Due to its unique properties, it can be adjusted very precisely to accurately achieve the required color temperature and has excellent efficiency in the warm white spectrum. Osconiq e 2835 CRI 90 (QD) can provide color temperature from 2200k to 6500k, with excellent efficiency of more than 200lm / W. With a power of 0.5W and a size of 2.8mm x 3.5mm, the small size promotes a compact and efficient lighting design. Quantum dots have good absorption properties, so the number of nanoparticles is reduced. Unlike other phosphors in general lighting, the development of quantum dot solutions is still in its infancy, but the future generations of products have broad prospects. One unique feature of Ames OSRAM’s quantum dot solution is that it uses a protective package, so it is more robust and less susceptible to moisture and other external factors. Thanks to this special packaging technology, it is possible to use such small particles in the demanding “chip size” operation in LEDs.

The LED also meets the strict requirements for light source energy efficiency in the single lighting regulation (SLR), which will be enforced in Europe in September 2021. Among other requirements, the requirements of the new regulations include the value of saturated red > 50, the so-called R9 value. R1 to R8 are used to determine the CRI, and each R value represents a specific color.

Osconiq e2835 also offers two other versions: CRI 80 components for office and retail lighting solutions and osconiq e2835 cyan. Among them, osconiq e2835 cyan can produce spectral peaks within the wavelength range of blue light, thereby inhibiting the generation of melatonin in the human body.
