If Apple is testing the waters on some iPhone 12 models for cost, then this year's iPhone 13 will be fully popularized.
According to the latest news from the industry chain, Apple plans to add the lidar scanner function to all iPhone 13 models released in 2021. Apple first applied lidar scanners on the iPad Pro launched in March 2020.
You know, the lidar scanner function only appeared on the iPhone 12 Pro series, and next year Apple will fully popularize it on the iPhone 13.
The news also mentioned that Apple will release the iPhone 13 series in September this year, the same as the iPhone 12, and there may be four models, namely the 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max.
In simple terms, lidar scanners measure the time it takes for a laser to bounce back after it hits an object, thus creating a depth map of the space it is in.
